The first step in my teaching method has always been to pay close attention to each one of my students and assess their abilities. This allows me to create a lesson plan that will help them improve their weaknesses, develop new strengths, and maintain a level of interest that is conducive to learning. I have noticed that my students learn fastest when they are able to make a connection between the material in the classroom and something that grabs their attention in the real world. I have been fortunate enough to hone this teaching method in my experience as a teaching assistant throughout college, a teacher of college lab sections, and a private tutor. I have a deep sense of familiarity with all math and science courses. For this reason, I am most comfortable helping students with these classes. However, I am open and able to teach multiple subjects. I am currently working on a PhD in energy and mineral economics. I also have a bachelor's degree in economics and a master's degree from Youngstown State University. My second master's degree is in geology from the University of Akron. I have a wide range of interests, and so, most of my free time is spent reading. I also enjoy spending time outside.
